(KRON) – A man has died and a woman was hospitalized after a car crashed into a tree on Sunday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. At 4:12 a.m., CHP officers and fire personnel responded to a crash on Highway 101 north of Dry Creek Road in Santa Rosa. CHP dispatch was informed that a vehicle was speeding excessively before the crash.  Responding officials saw an ablaze Infiniti sedan off the roadway. OPD look for multiple suspects in Saturday’s Foothill Square robberies A man and a woman were in the car. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and the woman was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to CHP.  According to the preliminary investigation, the Infiniti was speeding on Highway 101 when the driver lost control and slid off the roadway hitting a tree. The impact caused the sedan to go up in flames.  Anyone with information regarding the crash is asked to call the Santa Rosa CHP office at (707) 806-5600.
