ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man is facing several charges after police say he rammed into a police vehicle downtown while driving intoxicated. Early Sunday morning, the Albuquerque Police Department (APD) says an officer witnessed a vehicle run a stop light near 5th and Copper before finally catching up to the vehicle in a parking lot at Second and Central.
According to the criminal complaint, when police approached the vehicle, the driver sped off before ramming into another police vehicle. APD says the suspect, later identified as Ivan Trujillo Jr., then rammed into a truck in the parking lot before APD was able to stop the vehicle.

Police say Trujillo Jr. tried to flee the scene on foot but he was quickly arrested. According to APD, Trujillo Jr. showed signs of being intoxicated but he refused a blood alcohol test. They also say his license had been previously revoked due to a past DWI arrest.
When police searched the car, they said a gun was found near the driver's seat. Trujillo Jr. was booked into MDC and is facing several charges including battery, assault, and resisting an officer.
