HONOLULU (KHON2) -- Calling all plant parents! Now is your chance to adopt a Native Hawaiian plant from Bishop Museum at the Kaiwiʻula Night Market. Download the free KHON2 app for iOS or Android to stay informed on the latest news Bishop Museum partnered with the Grow Aloha hui to celebrate the Year of Our Community Forests, "share plants native to our island homes with our neighbors" and restore Hawaiian plants to the ‘āina. Financial relief is here for businesses affected by Skyline construction In January, prospective plant parents can adopt representative plants such as ʻilima, kalo, ko, lonomea and milo which were gathered from various local sources. Representatives from the Museum's Education Department and Seed Bank will be at the events to answer questions about adoptable plants. We encourage our community to visit the Kaiwiʻula Night Market throughout the year and learn more about our Native Hawaiian plants and the important role they play in our islands. We hope to foster interest in these plants and strengthen our relationships with them in urban areas.
