(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Though very little snow fell in Colorado Springs overnight, the temperatures have been below freezing, and roadways are snow-packed and icy on Sunday, Jan. 19.
The city's snow plow crews have been focusing on primary and secondary roadways, plowing and sanding to ensure traction.
With the frigid temperatures, the pavement has had no chance to warm up and will recover very slowly from the cold and ice. Drivers are encouraged to allow extra time to get to their destinations and to leave plenty of space between their vehicle and the one in front.
More snow is possible, and the evening snow plow crews will make their action plans according to the road conditions at that time.
