Longmeadow police arrest suspects connected with hoax bomb

LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) - The Longmeadow Police Department arrested three individuals on Saturday night following a search and seizure of illicit drugs and a hoax incendiary device.
Longmeadow police said that at around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Longmeadow officers were joined by Massachusetts State Police officers and members of the Drug Enforcement Agency at a home located at 87 South Avenue to search for alleged drug activity. While investigating, officers learned that the occupants of the home possessed a homemade bomb.

The Longmeadow Police Department activated the Massachusetts State Police Special Tactical Operations and EOD Teams upon entry for safety measures due to the nature of the search. Officers removed three occupants from the home while searching, and an item that looked like a bomb was found. It was eventually deemed to be a hoax.
Longmeadow police said that officers also found evidence of illegal drug use and possession during the search, and all three occupants were arrested.
