Nine people were arrested, one firearm was recovered and hundreds of citations were issued after a street takeover this weekend inside the old Carousel Mall parking structure in San Bernardino.
Between 9 p.m. Saturday to 3 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to reports of the takeover, where roughly 200 vehicles, including motorcycles, showed up in the parking structure, San Bernardino police Sgt. Christopher Gray said.
The mall was permanently closed in 2017 and demolished in 2023.
Video footage from OnScene.TV shows police and California Highway Patrol officers issuing citations while cars revved their engines in the background.
A total of 201 citations was issued, 20 vehicles were impounded, and one firearm was recovered, Gray added.
Nine people were arrested, though details about the grounds for their arrests were not released.
No injuries were reported.
