MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A man was arrested this weekend after Memphis Police say he broke into his mother's home and poured a relative's ashes in the toilet. On Saturday, officers responded to a residence in the 5200 block of Shelborne where a female victim reported that her son Adell Totten had allegedly broken a window and entered her home. Adell Totten. (SCSO) The victim claimed Totten then took down the indoor security cameras and allegedly took the cremated ashes of a deceased relative and put them in the toilet. Officers who responded found Totten on the scene and arrested him. He was found to have taken a $10 cap from the apartment as well. Family seeks help after teen hasn’t returned home in nearly a week The victim said Totten does not live at the residence. Adell Totten has been charged with aggravated burglary and abuse of a corpse. His bond information is unknown at this time.
