WYOCENA, Wis. (WFRV) - A 16-year-old girl from Pardeeville lost her life early Sunday morning after her vehicle crashed into a tree and overturned in Columbia County.
The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash shortly after 7:30 a.m. on West Bush Road near Groth Road. Preliminary reports indicated that the vehicle was upside down after colliding with a tree.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered the heavily damaged vehicle and the driver, the sole occupant, unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Initial evidence suggests the vehicle was traveling westbound on West Bush Road when it lost control, veered into the north ditch, and struck a tree. While the driver was wearing a seatbelt, speed is believed to have been a contributing factor in the crash.
The sheriff's office has not released the girl’s name as her family is still being notified.
