It is a cloudy and cold day across northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio. We have been tracking some scattered lake effect snow showers throughout the day, but most are now tapering off this evening. Still watch out for a few slick spots though into tonight. Only a slight chance for a snow shower lingers tonight and skies will turn partly cloudy. Arctic air will be rapidly moving in as the night goes on. We have issued 15 Fury Alert Days for Monday and Tuesday, as wind chills drop to dangerously low levels. 15 Fury Alert Days issued for extreme cold The National Weather Service has issued a Cold Weather Advisory for this dangerous cold. It will last until 10 AM Wednesday. A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect until 10 AM Wednesday. This cold weather product is new from the National Weather Service and replaces a Wind Chill Advisory. Watch the video below to learn more. Arctic air surges into the area and by Monday morning, feels-like temperatures will fall as low as around -20°. Avoid leaving skin exposed to these bitterly cold temperatures; wear multiple layers and limit outdoor activities throughout Monday, as wind chills stay below zero all day. The good news is we'll see a mostly sunny day, but the sunshine will not help it feel much warmer. An intensely cold Monday is ahead. Tuesday is similar to Monday, but highs will only be in the single digits. Wind chills will stay in the -10° to -20° range through Wednesday morning.
