Jan 19, 2025
NORTH DAKOTA (KXNET) — National Cheese Lovers Day takes place on January 20.
And Americans indulge in over 41 pounds of it every year.
Casino.ca did some digging by surveying over 3,000 to find America's favorite type of cheese.
Some of the grate findings include cheddar being the number one favorite cheese, ranking first in 24 states.
However, North Dakotans appear to favor pepper jack cheese, along with three other states.

Our neighboring states have differing opinions though. Montana and South Dakota both prefer mozzarella and Minnesota likes the classic cheddar.
On a personal rating, people rated their love as four out of five.
Americans eat cheese, on average, five times a week, and they spend roughly $17 a week on it.
71% of the survey respondents say they prefer their cheese to be melted.
When asked about when they like their cheese, 48% like it as a starter, 46% like it as part of the main course, and 6% prefer it as a form of dessert.
Finally, 51% of Americans do not believe there is "too much cheese."
