BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — East Baton Rouge Parish Mayor-President Sid Edwards will host a press briefing to talk about the city’s comprehensive preparations for the anticipated severe weather conditions.
The briefing will take place at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 19, at Baton Rouge City Hall, located at 222 St. Louis Street.
Louisiana is forecasted to have extremely cold weather with heavy snow expected beginning Tuesday morning.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for much of southern Louisiana, including the Baton Rouge metro area, along with a Cold Weather Advisory for the entire region.
Edwards will discuss the city’s emergency response strategies, highlight resources available to residents and the homeless community, and share safety tips for navigating severe weather.
