Winter Storm Warning: what to expect

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - The 22News Storm Team has issued a Weather Alert for accumulating snow late Sunday afternoon and Sunday night.
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for all of western Massachusetts from 1:00 p.m. on Sunday until 7:00 a.m. on Monday.
Winter storm calls for parking bans in these cities and towns
Sunday will start dry, possibly with a bit of sunshine in the early morning but clouds will quickly increase. Snow will develop later in the afternoon. Highs will be in the upper 30s.
The snow will become heavy at times Sunday evening, making for very difficult travel conditions. The snow will gradually taper off after midnight. A significant snow accumulation is likely across western Massachusetts, with the potential of over ten inches of snow in some areas. Lows will drop down into the teens overnight.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday is looking dry and much colder. Skies will be partly sunny and it will be windy as well. Highs will be in the lower 20s with temperatures falling in the afternoon.
Tuesday continues the cold trend with sunshine and highs in the mid to upper teens.
