RIDOH removes boil water advisory for Kent County Public Water System customers
Jan 19, 2025
WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Health said it has lifted the boil water advisory that was put in place for some customers of the Kent County Water Authority on Jan. 17.
RIDOH said the advisory was put in place because of a water main break on Major Potter Road in Warwick that could have caused a loss of water pressure, which increased the risk of contamination that can enter through cracks in the pipes.
Kent County Public Water System repaired the water main break, temporarily increased chlorine in the system, flushed the water mains, and collected bacteria samples that showed the absence of bacteria.
