SHELBY COUNTY, Ind. — Shelby County is opening a Warming Shelter as the area prepares for cold weather, the Shelby County Emergency Management Agency announced on Sunday. According to a press release, this shelter will be located at the Brinson Building at the Shelby County Fairgrounds, on 500 Frank Street. It begins operation on Sunday from 6 p.m. until 9 a.m. Indy prepares overnight warming center ahead of incoming polar blast The Emergency Management Agency added that the shelter will reopen for the same hours on Monday, but on Tuesday it will reopen from 5 p.m. until 9 a.m. However, the Warming Shelter may not only be open for these days. Per the Emergency Management Agency, its doors will stay open and operating overnight for as long as the county is in a cold weather advisory.
