CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A two-alarm fire broke out at a south Charlotte shopping center Friday night. According to the Charlotte Fire Department, crews responded at 8:50 p.m. to a commercial fire at the Blakeney shopping center in the 9700 block of Rea Road. There was smoke showing upon arrival. It took 60 firefighters to control the fire in 50 minutes. Firefighters reported no one was injured. Investigators say the fire was 'incendiary,' meaning it was set deliberately, and caused $20,000 in damages. This is still an active investigation.
