Russell’s, a Grand Avenue restaurant that opened a few months ago, is hosting a Winter Carnival-themed pop-up during this year’s festival. Called “The Rex,” the pop-up is set to serve apps and drinks, plus pull-tabs. They’ll have live entertainment, too, owner Todd Russell says. Russell himself is a Carnival guy — he served as Count Embrious in the 1989 Vulcan Krewe and has been key to bringing this year’s King Boreas Grande Day Parade to Grand Avenue.
