A woman who died after the motor scooter she was driving crashed in the San Pasqual Valley last weekend has been identified as a 49-year-old Escondido resident. According to the Medical Examiner’s Office, Kristen Ryan was riding a Vespa scooter westbound on San Pasqual Valley Road not far from San Diego Zoo Safari Park with her husband following on another scooter on Jan. 12 when she was thrown from the vehicle after striking a rock in the road on a curve. Bystanders called 911, and responding paramedics transported her to a hospital where she died.
