Cumber reaches 1,000 career points in win over CSU

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Lobo women's basketball is back in the win column. New Mexico earned a 78-74 road victory against CSU on Saturday to improve to 5-1 inside of league play.
During the Lobos game against the Rams, UNM senior guard Viané Cumber reached a new milestone. Cumber recorded her 1,000th career point, becoming the 27th Lobo to do so.
Overall, Cumber had a career day. She led the team with 25 points to tie her career high. She also recorded 11 rebounds for her third double-double of the season.
UNM freshman Joana Magalhães also had a career-best outing. She finished the game with 20 points and seven rebounds.
For the game, the Lobos shot the ball 40% from the field and ended the game with 10 made three-point shots.
Up next for New Mexico is a road game at Utah State on Tuesday. That game will tip off at 6 p.m. MT on the Mountain West Network.
