The No. 6/4 Providence College men’s ice hockey team fell to No. 2/2 Boston College, 4-1, on Saturday (Jan. 18) at Schneider Arena. Will Elger scored in the second period for the Friars.

NOTES
– Boston College opened the scoring 7:06 into the first period, as Gabe Perrault put away a one-timer feed from James Hagens to put the Eagles ahead 1-0.
– The Eagles doubled their lead early in the second period on a tip-in effort from Jake Sondreal in front of the net, putting Boston College up 2-0.
– Providence got one back late in the second period, as Will Elger connected on a one-timer feed from Hudson Malinoski in the high slot, capitalizing on the power-play opportunity just three seconds into the man-advantage. Graham Gamache also collected an assist on the win in the face-off circle.
– Boston College regained their two-goal lead 8:02 into the third period, as Ryan Leonard caught a piece of a Lukas Gustafsson shot before redirecting it into the net on the power play.
– The Eagles tacked on their fourth goal of the night just over six minutes later when Teddy Stiga finished on a one-timer low glove-side to bring about the final 4-1 score.
– Twelve different Friars landed a shot on net, including five-shot performances from Will Elger, Trevor Connelly and Chase Yoder.
