NEWBOLD, Wis. (WFRV) - Officials with the Wisconsin Department of Justice are investigating a death that involved an officer pursuit on Friday in Oneida County. According to a release from the Wisconsin Department of Justice, a Oneida County Sheriff's Office Deputy attempted a traffic stop around 9:15 p.m. on Friday on Highway 47 at Northwestern Avenue. The vehicle in question didn't comply, resulting in a vehicle pursuit that ended when the subject drove into the wrong lane of traffic. The subject crashed into another vehicle near the intersection of State Highway 47 and Bridge Road in Newbold. Manitowoc man sentenced to quarter-century in prison for child porn The victim vehicle that was struck carried 6, all sustaining injuries. Emergency medical officials were contacted as law enforcement attempted to perform life-saving actions on the original subject of the pursuit. The subject was pronounced dead on the scene, however, as other injured victims were taken to local hospitals for medical care. The officer involved will be on administrative leave due to the department's policy. No more details are available at this time.
