Photo by Chris Schwegler/NBAE via Getty Images The Pistons look to stay above .500 against the scuffling Suns The Detroit Pistons want to keep the good times rolling, and that means avoid stringing together consecutive losses for as long as possible. After a disappointing showing against the Indiana Pacers, Detroit will look to right the ship against a surprisingly (or maybe not so surprisingly) mediocre Phoenix Suns team. The Suns are solidly .500 and while they are looking for a path toward contention armed with a ginormous payroll and few assets to move, I’m not sure how they ever become more than they are. Detroit, meanwhile, seems to be on either a minor or significant ascension. A team that bested last year’s record before the new year is now looking like not just a good bad team, but a potentially good good team. One that can beat anyone on any given night.
