KOKOMO, Ind. (WISH) — The Kokomo Fire Department says that a person died from a housefire Friday night. Jan. 17, Kokomo firefighters were called to the 1000 block of North Armstrong Street around 11:08 p.m. for a house fire. Firefighters say that heavy flames were showing on the front side of the home. “We are saddened to report that attempts to rescue the resident were unsuccessful due to extreme heat and partial collapse of the structure,” KFD Deputy Chief of Operations Steve Stackhouse said in a press release. The fire remains under investigation, and the name of the victim is withheld pending notification of next of kin.
