RICHMOND, Va. (WAVY) - Gov. Glenn Youngkin has ordered all flags to be raised to full-staff in Virginia for Inauguration Day. Back on Dec. 30, Youngkin ordered that U.S. and Virginia flags in local, state and federal buildings, and on the grounds, be lowered in memory of Jimmy Carter, the 39th president of the United States, following President Biden's Presidential Proclamation. This order was to last until Jan. 28, 30 days from the day of Carter's death. In an Order sent out Saturday, Jan. 18, Youngkin ordered that all flags be raised to full-staff the morning of Jan. 20, in recognition of the inauguration of the 47th President of the United States. Flags will be lowered again, the day after Inauguration Day, and will remain lowered until Jan. 28.
