A note-passing pirate hit three banks within 25 hours during a wild Bronx robbery spree, police said Saturday. The bank robber, sporting a winter coat, ski cap and a salt-and-pepper beard, patiently waits on line at the banks, then passes a note to the teller claiming he has a gun. He then orders the teller to put the loose cash in a tote bag he has with him, cops said. Cops are asking anyone with information regarding this bank robber to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential. (NYPD) But the daring robbery spree hasn’t netted him very much. During all three heists, cops said he’s only made off with a total of $3,400. Cops on Saturday released surveillance images of the man in the hopes someone recognizes him. The robberies began on Thursday just before 2 p.m. when he entered a Webster Bank branch on Allerton Ave. near Colden Ave. in the Allerton section of the Bronx, cops said. He passed his threatening note to the teller, but panicked and ran off before receiving any cash. Not 15 minutes later, the thief showed up at an Apple Bank on White Plains Road near Pelham Parkway South — about a mile from the Webster Bank branch — and passed his note to a teller claiming he had a gun, although he never showed one. The teller gave the crook about $400, cops said. The thief was last seen walking to a Nissan Altima parked near the banks and speeding off. At 2:30 p.m. on Friday, the robber resurfaced at a Citi Bank branch on Baychester Ave. near Strang Ave. in Wakefield, where he passed a note to a teller threatening to use his gun if she didn’t fill his tote bag with the cash in the employee’s drawer. He left the bank with $3,000, cops said. No injuries were reported in any of the heists. Cops are asking anyone with information regarding this bank robber to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
