Veterans cook up pancake and sausage breakfast to benefit local charities

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Veterans are piling pancakes sky high at their community breakfast on Saturday.
The Marine Corps League Pancake and Sausage Breakfast runs every third Saturday of the month, held by local detachment 1453.
According to its website, the league donates proceeds raised through its fundraisers to local charities. These include Toys for Tots Fort Wayne and Whitley County, Shepherd's House and Veteran's National Memorial Shrine and Museum.
The league's recent Facebook posting said for $6, diners can choose between:
Two pancakes with two sausage links
Two blueberry pancakes with two sausage links
Build-your-own omelet with two sausage links
Biscuits and gravy
Complimentary coffee and orange juice will also be available.
The breakfast will be held at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 857 on 2202 W. Main St. from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
