(WFRV) - The state of Wisconsin lost an icon on Thursday with the death of Brewers announcer Bob Uecker, who touched the hearts of all who listened to his broadcasts for over a half-century.
But, nationwide, many knew him not only as an iconic broadcaster but as one of the stars of a beloved baseball movie, 'Major League.' Uecker played the play-by-play announcer in the movie, with one of the most iconic lines in sports film history.
