EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso Fire crews quickly put out a fire in South-Central El Paso on Friday afternoon, Jan. 17, a Fire Department spokesman said.
Crews responded to the fire at about 2:45 p.m. along the 100 block of South Stevens. Originally, the Fire Department said the fire was along the 3700 block of Alameda.
Fire officials said the fire was out by 3:05 p.m.
One person was rescued from the fire and was evaluated. There were no injuries.
Eight fire units and 21 firefighters responded.
The fire was ruled to be unintentional, fire officials said. The structure had no power or gas at the time of the incident. Residents caused the fire in an attempt to stay warm, fire officials said.
The City's Building Department was notified about the incident for future follow-ups.
