Jan 17, 2025
BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — North Dakota businesses have two more weeks to submit their applications for the Automation Tax Credit, due at the end of the month on January 31.
This tax credit is for primary sector businesses that purchased automation equipment in 2024. It provides eligible businesses a tax credit of up to 15% to cover the cost of the equipment, which can be anything leased or bought in order to automate a manual process.“We encourage any qualifying businesses to explore this tax credit opportunity,” Commerce Advanced Manufacturing Business Development Manager Dave Lehman said. “By reducing manual labor with automation, businesses can improve job quality and increase output, helping keep North Dakota’s robust economy growing.”

The requirements for the tax credit are that the company must be certified as a primary sector business through Commerce, and the applicant must have taken ownership of automation equipment during the 2024 calendar year. Once you submit your application, it will be reviewed by the Economic Development and Finance Division (ED&F).For more information, visit ndgov.link/incentives.
