54year Bills season ticket holder gears up for Bills/Ravens matchup
Jan 17, 2025
AVON, N.Y. (WROC) - One of the very first Bills season ticket holders is getting ready to cheer the team on from Orchard Park again Sunday.
Bob Hanna has only missed three Bills games in almost 55 years. He says this upcoming AFC Divisional matchup means everything.
Over 50 years of fandom and history can be found at Bob and Sally Hanna's Avon home. The Hannas have been married for 55 years. Bob has been a Bills season ticket holder for 54 of those years.
"I've had the same seat in this stadium since they built it. It never changed," said Hanna.
Bob watches the games with his daughter, Crystal, from the upper deck on the 50-yard line.
The Hannas say it's more than a family tradition. It has become a ritual, as Bob has only missed a few games for significant family commitments.
"I want [a win Sunday] bad. I want another game to go to. To be with your daughter and your friends... We park with the same people every game in the parking lot. We've got it down to where we've got about 12 games left. Then, it's over," said Hanna.
Bob says parting with his Highmark Stadium seats when the new stadium opens in 2026 won't be easy. His wife, Sally, agrees.
"He is tough. But the people and the fans are so nice. If they see him walking with his cane, they'll stop and help him. It's exciting. I just hope they go all the way for his sake because he's been going for so many years," said Hanna.
Until then, the Hannas and the rest of the Bills Mafia will cross their fingers for a Bills win.
"I'll go until I'm 90 or 100 if I can. It's going to be crazy. You won't hear yourself think. It could be the loudest I've ever heard it," said Hanna.
