Man sentenced to prison for 2023 fatal shooting in Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – A man is facing 40-years to life in prison following a 2023 fatal shooting on North Goodman Street.
On July 21, 2023, officers were called to North Goodman Street for a shooting and found 35-year-old Todd Jones dead at the scene. Officials said he was standing at the corner of North Goodman Street and Diringer Place when he was shot in the chest.
Eleven days later, 35-year-old Herley Williams was arrested and found with an illegal gun. Prosecutors note that Williams and Jones were known to each other.

A jury found Williams guilty of Murder and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in November 2024.
Williams has been sentenced to 25 years to Life for Murder (2nd), consecutive to 15-years plus 5 years of post-release supervision for Criminal Possession of a Weapon (2nd).
