FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - The man who died after colliding with a big rig in Fresno Thursday has been identified by the Fresno County Coroner's Office. The coroner's office identified the man as 83-year-old Hector Lara of Fresno. On Thursday, the crash took place at around 1:30 p.m. in the area of Cedar Avenue and South Avenue. The California Highway Patrol says at the time of the crash, a big rig was traveling northbound on Cedar Avenue, approaching South Avenue, and did not have a stop sign. Lara entered the intersection and then collided with the big rig, according to CHP. CHP says Lara died at the scene. This is an ongoing investigation.
