Syracuse, N.Y. — A Utica man has been sentenced to eight years in federal prison for attempting to sell cocaine he received in the mail, prosecutors said.Willie Alvarado Jr., 34, was sentenced last week for attempted possession with intent to distribute over 500 grams of cocaine and money laundering, prosecutors from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of New York said in a news release on Friday.
