Two people and ATV fall through ice in Berkshire County

MONTEREY, Mass. (WWLP)-- Two people were able to make it to shore after falling through the ice on a frozen lake in Berkshire County early Friday morning.
According to the Monterey Fire Department, at 7:14 a.m. the department was called to the state boat ramp at Lake Buel. Responders found that both people were out of the water after being helped by a family member. After a medical evaluation, one person was taken to Fairview Hospital.

The ATV was found approximately 15 feet underwater off Heberts Cove. Massachusetts Environmental Police and Monterey Police assisted.
The fire department is reminding residents that no ice is safe to be on including ATVs and vehicles.
