Police: 50yearold man arrested for paying 14yearold human trafficking victim for sex

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque Police arrested a 50-year-old man accused of soliciting sex from a 14-year-old human trafficking victim.
According to police, William Cates saw the victim along Central Avenue and offered to give her a ride. Cates then took the victim to a local hotel room, and police said he paid her to have sex with him.

Cates is charged with criminal sexual penetration of a minor and patronizing prostitution. Detectives learned about Cates while they were investigating two people, Tajahnae Maryann Johnson and Roderick Norseweather, who were arrested on human trafficking charges.
