MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The teen charged with shooting a colleague outside the FedEx Hub last year faced a preliminary hearing Friday. The hearing for Tyreese Earnest would determine if there is enough evidence to move forward. Prosecutors, as well as the defense, had the chance to question several people, including the shooting victim, in order for the court to decide what's next. The 18-year-old tried to dodge our cameras, while also hoping to dodge the three felony and one misdemeanor charges he's facing. The most serious is attempted second-degree murder. Tyreese Earnest The man he is accused of shooting was also in court, having to re-live the moment from Oct. 30 of last year after getting off work at FedEx, he told the judge. The victim was shot twice, once in the arm and in the chest, shortly after making it to his car. He told the judge that right before shots rang out, he was actually talking with those accused in the attack. Victim identified in MS town square shooting; teen charged with murder When asked, the victim pointed at the alleged triggerman, saying in his words, it was "the dude behind the wall." The victim said he didn't see the gun before it was fired, but he felt it on his shoulder. It's not just Earnest who's facing charges. Twin brothers JaMarcus and JaMarion Odell are also charged with facilitation of attempted second degree murder. Both are out of custody, released on their own recognizances. Suspect in shooting outside FedEx hub back in jail with $200k bond Last year, Earnest had been released without bond before D.A. Steve Mulroy filed an emergency writ to have him put back in jail with a bond of $200,000. Court records show Earnest is still in lockup on $200,000 bond.
