INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Metro police say a woman has died from "trauma" on the city's near northwest side. A person of interest has since been detained.
IMPD crews were called around 1 p.m. Friday to the 2800 block of Questend Dr. S. for a death investigation with an unknown cause. Upon arrival at the scene - a residential area near W. Kessler Blvd. and W. 30th Street - officers found an adult female with injuries consistent with trauma.
In an update around 1:30 p.m., IMPD said the woman was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials confirmed that a person of interest has since been detained by officers on scene. That person has reportedly been taken to an area hospital for treatment on what IMPD believes is self-inflicted trauma wounds.
No other information was immediately provided by police. FOX59/CBS4 has a crew on the way to the scene to confirm more details. This article will be updated once more info is available.
