Indiana National Guard deploys to support 60th presidential inauguration
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — About 140 Indiana National Guard soldiers on Friday were deployed to support the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump on Monday.
A total of 8,000 National Guard soldiers from 40 states and territories will be part of the inauguration.
The Indiana National Guard says the soldiers will provide crowd management, manage traffic control points, and respond to civil disturbances, and conduct sustainment operations.
The Indiana National Guard says it also supported Trump’s first inauguration in 2017 and President Joe Biden’s inauguration in 2021.
On Monday, WISH-TV and WISHTV.com will have coverage of the inauguration starting on “Daybreak” and continuing to the swearing-in that starts at noon.
Trump’s second inauguration and the parade will be moved indoors, he announced Friday, due to dangerously cold temperatures projected in the nation’s capital.
