Door County Sheriff's Office celebrates career of retiring Chief Deputy who served 30+ years

DOOR COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) - The Door County Sheriff's Office is celebrating the long career of its Chief Deputy who served in various roles with the department for decades.
Chief Deputy Pat McCarty began his career with the Door County Sheriff's Office in April 1994, spending time in the correctional division and patrol division. Chief Deputy McCarty was promoted to his position in 2015 to serve under Sheriff Steven Delarwelle.

He continued serving in the role for the past six years under Sheriff Tammy Sternard.
"Retirement marks the end of a career but celebrates a legacy of service, integrity and professionalism," Sheriff Tammy Sternard wrote in a Door County Sheriff's Office Facebook post.

The post thanked Chief Deputy McCarty for over 30 years of serving the community while wishing him well in retirement.
