BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Hall Ambulance's "Siren the Rescue Dog" is all grown up and is now donning a paramedic's uniform.
Siren was introduced in 2005 and appears at parades, health fairs and community events. In celebration of her 20th birthday, the Saint Bernard has been re-imagined as a paramedic.

Paramedics and EMTs throughout Kern County have provided more than 70 thousand cuddle-size versions of Siren to children they respond to.
"Siren has become something of a local superstar," Mark Corum with Hall Ambulance said. "I've seen first hand when we're walking the route of the Bakersfield Christmas Parade as a thousand people are lining the streets, and you'll hear them calling out Siren the Rescue Dog -- so we really appreciate the impact she's made."
Hall Ambulance has a long history of various mascots, starting with the "Motor Medic" in the mid 1970's, which was inspired by R2-D2 from Star Wars.
