MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- Police in Montgomery County have launched an investigation after a person was found dead in Rockville early Friday morning. Details remain limited; however, the Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD) posted on X just after 4 a.m., that Shady Grove Road was closed due to a police investigation. Police told DC News Now that officers were patrolling the area when they noticed a BMW in the middle of the road. When officers approached the car, they found a person dead inside. (Tosin Fakile/DC News Now) WATCH: Crash causes vehicle to go off Arlington Memorial Bridge, into Potomac River As a result, police officers shut down Shady Grove Road in both directions at Corporate Boulevard, Key West Avenue, and Research Boulevard. Detectives are working to learn how the person died and what led up to the incident. MCPD said the victim's body would be taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, where an autopsy will be completed. In an update around 9 a.m., police announced that Shady Grove Road had reopened. This is a developing story.
