STURBRIDGE, Mass. (WWLP) - A suspect was arrested on Wednesday following an armed robbery incident in Sturbridge. Chicopee man arrested during disturbance outside bar on Belmont Ave in Springfield On Wednesday, at 8:48 p.m., officers were sent to a report of an armed robbery in the Sam's Food Store parking lot on Main Street. The victim stated that a man had shown a knife and tried to steal his wallet and laptop from his vehicle before taking off. When officers arrived, a search was initiated for the suspect vehicle. The vehicle was spotted traveling on Route 20 near Baba Sushi with no headlights on. A traffic stop was conducted and after an investigation, the driver was identified as the suspected armed robber. The driver was taken into custody without incident and was arraigned on Thursday.
