On Wednesday, at about 11:44 p.m., a Clovis police officer tried to pull over a car near Prince and McDonald Ave for a traffic stop. That's when they say the car fled by driving through a field.
The officer did not chase the car but instead set up a perimeter of the area with the help of other officers. They say they noticed a person running on foot but were unable to find them.
Later, they were sent to a collision between the car they had pulled over and a train near the Norris Street railroad crossing. When they arrived no one was in the vehicle.
Police are now asking that anyone with information on the incident call their non-emergency line at 575-769-1921.
