RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Richmond Animal Care and Control has rescued a dog that had been tied with a leash to a bus pole between Thursday night and Friday morning. Between the evening hours on Thursday, Jan. 16 and the early morning hours on Friday, Jan. 17, a resident called Richmond Animal Care and Control (RACC) in reference to a dog that had been abandoned near the intersection of Chambers Street and Bowen Street in the city's Southside. When RACC staff arrived to the area, they were able to rescue the dog, which had been tied by a leash to a bus pole. Though RACC's ability to take in surrendered animals is limited, anyone who needs to surrender their pet is asked to email [email protected] for further assistance.
