Patchy fog has developed Friday morning. With temperatures that have fallen to the 20s, freezing fog will be a concern over the next few hours. A light glaze of ice may form on some roadways and sidewalks. Continue to use extra caution on your traveling this morning. Warmest in weeks This will be the best day in weeks! Temperatures will be the warmest since January 2nd when we hit 41° in Indianapolis. We are forecasting to be there again today. Winds have shifted out of the south and will turn breezy this afternoon. Gusts near 30 mph are possible. This will usher air much milder air compared to where we have been. The warmup is brief. Another round of arctic air will send temperatures tumbling this weekend into next week. Rain to snow tonight Rain arrives late tonight ahead of the cold air. Expect rain developing near 9 p.m. on the western side of the state and spreading east overnight. As the cold air dives in, some locations will see a changeover to a wintry mix and wet snow showers early Saturday. Light accumulations are possible and this could lead to renewed slick spots on the roads. Temperatures falling Saturday; arctic air returns It will be a windy Saturday with falling temperatures. We will be back below freezing Saturday afternoon and continue to fall to the low teens early Sunday. The first few days of next week will be difficult as bitter cold air and dangerously cold wind chills set in. We are tracking several mornings starting below zero. Winds chills dropping below -20° in some locations will be possible.
