INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Some spots this morning may see a little bit of patchy fog otherwise lots of sunshine for the day today. A much warmer day across the state but a bitter blast will arrive next week.
TODAY: A few foggy spots across parts of Central Indiana this morning. We will see temperatures starting out into the 20s but they will quickly rise later this afternoon. It is going to be a warmer afternoon and evening with lots of sunshine. High temperatures climbing into the upper thirties right around 40. Looks like our high temperature will be shortly before midnight. We have got winds that will be a bit breezy at times and may gust around 20 mph.
TONIGHT: A cold front moves through the state later tonight bringing us a chance of some rain. Showers move through overnight and as colder air moves in early Saturday morning we will see that rain change over to snow. Temperatures stay fairly steady overnight into the 30s.
SATURDAY: Morning rain will change over to some snow. Some light accumulations are possible less than an inch across much of the metro area. Temperatures take a dramatic drop. We will see our high temperatures early in the morning into the 30s and then falling into the twenties for the afternoon.
SUNDAY: Look for mostly cloudy skies on Sunday a few flurries may be possible and it is going to be chilly with high temperatures only around 20.
7 DAY EXTENDED FORECAST: A bitter blast moves in for early next week. This will be the coldest air that we have seen this season. We’re talking about high temperatures on Monday only in the single digits with morning low temperatures below zero.
The cold conditions continue on Tuesday partly cloudy skies with highs near 10 and low temperatures well below zero. We will slowly see temperatures work back up closer to freezing as we head into the latter half of next week.
