Airpowered rifle shooting in Fond du Lac leads to traffic stop arrest, victim shot at 3 times

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) - A 21-year-old man was taken into custody after he allegedly shot at another man three times with an air-powered rifle at a Fond du Lac apartment complex.
According to the Fond du Lac Police Department, deputies arrested a 21-year-old Fond du Lac man after a shooting in the 400 block of West Scott Street around 7:20 p.m. on January 16.

Officers responded to West Scott Street after reports from callers that a man had allegedly shot a shotgun two to three times at a nearby apartment complex. The suspect reportedly fled the scene in a vehicle before FDLPD officers arrived.
Shortly after, officers found the suspect thanks to witnesses in the area of North Main Street and East Arndt Street. The 21-year-old man was taken into custody after a traffic stop.
Around 7:35 p.m., officers were made aware of a 30-year-old man, also from Fond du Lac, who arrived at a local hospital with a 'gunshot wound.' Officers were able to tie the victim to the shooting on West Scott Street.
During the investigation, authorities determined that the victim was shot at three times with an air-powered rifle designed to shoot pellets. Officers say that two shots missed and one shot hit the victim’s upper arm.

The suspect was taken to the Fond du Lac County Jail where he reportedly faces multiple criminal charges. The victim was treated and released from the hospital.
The City of Fond du Lac Police Department was assisted by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office during the incident, which remains under investigation.
