(NEXSTAR) - The Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs sees both No. 1 seeds join the fray in the battle to win Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans next month. The Detroit Lions are hoping for the culmination of a decades-long rebuilding project while the Chiefs are pushing for an unprecedented three-peat as league champions. Neither team has an easy path to the Caesars Superdome, as six dangerous challengers await. As part of an hour-long special airing Friday, January 17 at 3 p.m. ET, Sports Anchors Simone Eli and P.J. Ziegler will talk to sports journalists from across the Nexstar network of newsrooms about each individual matchup and why a Chiefs-Lions Super Bowl is far from assured.
The weekend's action gets rolling on Saturday afternoon with Kansas City hosting the Texans, who are coming off an impressive 32-12 win over the Los Angeles Chargers in the Wild Card round. Fox 4 Kansas City Sports Anchor Rob Collins has been following the Chiefs' quest for the dynasty label and will break down what the Texans need to do to derail Patrick Mahomes and company. Saturday's evening game features the Lions hosting the upstart Washington Commanders. WOOD TV Sports Director Jack Doles will discuss what it will take to prevent rookie sensation Jayden Daniels from serving Michigan sports fans another painful round of playoff disappointment.

Sunday afternoon the red-hot Los Angeles Rams will visit Philadelphia in a battle of teams with a Super Bowl to their credit over the past decade. Oddsmakers favor the Eagles in this one, but both teams feature veteran stars hoping to add more hardware to the shelf. Pennsylvania Sports Reporter Allie Berube from ABC27 will join to discuss whether Saquon Barkley and the formidable Eagles run game can keep the balanced attack of the Rams off the field and send the team back to the NFC title game. Oddsmakers say the Baltimore Ravens vs. Buffalo Bills game should be the closest of the weekend, with each team featuring superstar quarterbacks, physical running attacks and solid defensive units. WVIB - Buffalo Sports Director Josh Reed will join our show to look at the Bills' chances of pushing past the Ravens and finally bringing a Super Bowl title to the fans lovingly dubbed "The Bills Mafia."
