Eataly Plus a big sexy steak at Al Biernat’s, supporting wildfire survivors with food, and 7-Eleven’s high fashion collab Eater Dallas has been trying to manifest a pizza fest in Dallas for the last year and all that hard work (lol) paid off. Eataly dropped a press release in our inbox that they are hosting on this April. Sign us up! It’s set to take place on April 6, 2025, and will give us chance to eat pizza from 30 different local businesses, including our faves Cenzo’s, Poco Fiasco, Sauce Bros, Thunderbird Pies, Fortunate Son, and Partenope. Sounds like an excellent opportunity to shoot embarrassing video of us taste testing them all and finally stick it to that Barstool guy. Early bird tickets are on sale now for $55 until February 2 and Eataly tells us prices will go up after that. Do your future self a favor and buy now. The press release says that a portion of ticket sales will be donated to “New Friends, New Life: Liberty Street Garden, an organization that empowers trafficked and sexually exploited teen girls, women and their children, and drives awareness of the issue and its prevalence.” Support survivors of the LA Wildfires A trio of local businesses have things going on to benefit the folks rebuilding their lives in Los Angeles. SusieCakes Bakery, which opened its first location in LA, is donating 100 percent of the proceeds from it’s heart cupcakes to Red Cross, Canine Rescue Club, and the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation — find them at any SusieCakes location. The Giving Table, an organization put together by chef Sharon Van Meter and Dude, Sweet Chocolate owner Katherine Clapner, is hosting a dinner with over a dozen local chefs on Sunday, January 19 with proceeds going to Mercy Chefs. Donate or buy a ticket online. And Bird Bakery is giving 100 percent of proceeds from its strawberry lemonade cupcake to the LA Fire Department, until February 1. Its founder, Elizabeth Chambers, lives in LA and was near the Palisades Fire, causing her to be evacuated from her home. San Antonio beef has entered the chat Al Biernat’s announced it is partnering with San Antonio-based ranch Dean & Peeler to exclusively sell some of its beef products. How diners will see that on the menu will be for the ballers: a cowboy cut 24 oz. bone-in ribeye ($99) and a KC cut 22 oz. bone-in strip ($85). Those steaks will both be wet-aged for 28 days. In a press release, Biernat’s calls Dean & Peeler the “fully vertically integrated beef company, managing every stage of production to ensure superior quality.” Meaning: it raises, slaughters, and cuts those steaks itself. The release also says the ranch “focus[es] on sustainability, sourcing feed locally, and reducing [its] environmental impact.” We like the sound of all of that. Gustav Schmiege How much do you love 7-Eleven? Prove it. The Irving-headquartered corner store that started its journey to being a staple on street corners world-wide in Oak Cliff dropped a 7-Eleven X By Way of Dallas merch collection on Friday, January 17. Some of the items look pretty cool, and are completely sans the 7-Eleven logo. Others... less so. It features oversized totes (like the one below), mesh shirts, sweats, hoodies, and a pretty cute t-shirt with the Dallas skyline.
