MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - The California Highway Patrol urges drivers to make sure their tires are in good condition following a crash involving a vehicle with tires in poor condition.
CHP says officers responded to a traffic collision on northbound Highway 99, north of Avenue 9 in Madera County on Thursday.
According to officers, the driver of a Nissan lost control of his vehicle, and as he veered across all lanes of traffic, he was t-boned by a Ford. After the impact, the Nissan overturned and collided with the guardrail.
During the investigation, CHP says officers noticed the front tires of the Nissan were in poor condition. No injuries were reported, but because of this, they advise residents to maintain their vehicles and make sure all of their components are in good shape, and check their tire's pressure and tread depth before going on a trip.
