Weather Alert: Ice Spots Early; Tracking Rain Snow for the Weekend

WEATHER ALERT: Some slick spots are possible this morning. Looking ahead, we have the potential for some accumulating snow late Sunday into early Monday.
Good morning! Some slick spots are possible this morning. We'll have lots of sunshine through the day. The weekend will feature both rain and some snow. Some accumulations are possible by Monday morning. Then, bitter cold will arrive for next week.
That little coating of snow was mainly limited to areas around Providence and points south. Those are the areas where some slick spots are possible.

We'll have lots of sunshine through the day today with some seasonable temperatures.

Highs today will be in the mid to upper 30s in the afternoon with winds from the northwest 5-10mph.

Clear skies this evening, but clouds will start to roll in late in the night.
TOMORROW
Saturday will start with some sun, but clouds will be thickening through the day.
Rain showers develop by mid to late afternoon, becoming a steady rain.
That steady rain continues through 8PM, possibly a little heavy at times.
Afternoon highs on Saturday will be in the mid 40s with a gusty southerly wind.
LOOKING AHEAD
Sunday will start out some sunshine, but clouds will quickly roll back into the region. Some snow showers are possible by late afternoon....
That snow is expected to become widespread through the evening and continue through the night.
Several inches of snow are possible by sunrise Monday....perhaps more in some areas. Stay tuned through the weekend for more on that.
Impact-wise, with most of the accumulating snow falling at night and early on MLK Day, the impacts should light to moderate -- kids are off from school and many people are off from work.
Highs on Sunday will be in the low 40s.
Then, bitterly cold air will arrive for much of next week....arriving through the day on Monday.
